Cagsawa Ruins National Park..... Priceless Albay Treasure

The Cagsawa Ruins (also spelled as Kagsawa or Cagsaua) are the remnants of what was once an 18th century Franciscan church, the Cagsawa church, built in 1724 and destroyed by the 1814 eruption of the Mayon Volcano. They are located in Barangay Busay, Cagsawa, in the municipality of Daraga, Albay, Philippines. It is located approximately 2.2 km  from the town of Daraga and are approximately 8 km  from the city of Legazpi. They are also 3.3 km from the Legazpi Airport and a 55-minute flight from Manila. By bus, the location is five to six hours away from Manila.

A constant reminder of both the danger and beauty of Mayon, here is Cagsawa Ruins from the lens of Dennis Remolacio Mirabueno:

  1. Sir, I appreciate your nice blog entry here but may I just mention that by experience, it's quite impossible to reach the location of Cagsawa Ruins (from Manila) within five or six hours by bus. It usually takes about ten-twelve hours. If there's a bus that could get you in Cagsawa within five or six hours, can you please mention its name so that I could try it (kidding aside). :D

    1. Hey there!

You can try Cagsawa Travel and Tours bus company. I assure you they may take you here in Daraga in not more than 10 hours. They leave Manila in time and it's one of the safest bus company. Truly they are the no. 1 bus company (in my opinion) here in our province.
